The Top 12 were chosen last night by America and I have to say that I was pretty shocked by two eliminations. The four people who are unfortunately packing their bags are: Lilly Scott, Katelyn Epperly, Alex Lambert and Todrick Hall.

I am so surprised to see Lilly Scott leave because she is such an original artist. She knows exactly who she is and performed with confidence every week. I thought that she would sail through to the Top 12. She will no longer be part of the show but we should still expect to hear great things from her. Just keep your eyes out for Lilly!

Another surprise for me was seeing Alex Lambert go. Although Alex lacks the confidence needed on a ratings-giant like American Idol, he has the voice! He is someone that I could find myself listening to on the radio all the time. While Trouble was not his best performance, it still should have kept him in the Top 12. Of course, this is completely my opinion.

So here is the full list of the Season 9 Top 12: Aaron Kelly, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Crystal Bowersox, Didi Benami, Katie Stevens, Lacey Brown, Lee Dewyze, Michael Lynche, Paige Miles, Siobhan Magnus, and Tim Urban.

On a final note: I’m counting on Lee, Didi, Andrew, Crystal and Michael to pull this season through. There has been a lot of talk about how the talent in this season is not up to par with previous seasons. I’d have to say that I agree. If Season 9 has any hope…it will be because of these five very talented contestants! Make us proud guys! And of course we have Ellen too! That makes everything better.
