Sometimes you just come across a video gem on YouTube. It’s rare but so awesome when it happens. This would be one of them! I hope that one day when I have my own children, they will have this much personality. You cannot miss the rap. It’s by far the best part. Watch and enjoy!
Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill performed How Great Thou Art last night on ACM’s Girls’ Night Out. It was an amazing performance and I wanted to share it with all of you.
Well, it seems that not everyone in America has lost their mind. It has been confirmed that Pia Toscano has scored a record deal with Interscope Records. The Chairman of the company, Jimmy Iovine, is getting her in the studio as soon as possible. I’m so glad that she will have this opportunity and I feel that she truly deserves it! The contestants on American Idol this year are very talented. However, Pia was voted off way too early and deserved to be in the Top 3. Either way, it seems that Pia will be given her time to shine again through this deal. For those interested in seeing Pia on tour, you can see her on the American Idol Tour this summer at a city near you!
This week, it seems that we have had another elimination of Daughtry proportions. Those of you that are faithful viewers of American Idol remember the surprise elimination of Chris Daughtry back in Season 5. This year, we lose another contestant way too early. Pia Toscano will be packing her bags. Pia, who is known for her power ballads, received the least amount of votes this week. The crowd booed for the unfair elimination. The judges were “angry” and told America that they “got it wrong.” I have to agree. I am very annoyed with the show at this point. I feel that they used their one judges’ save too early. Now, a contestant that really had a shot at winning it all, is gone. At this point, I only have two others that I’m rooting for each week, Stefano Lagone and Lauren Alaina. However, the show has now jumped the shark and I really do not care if I watch it anymore. I definitely won’t be breaking a sweat to get to the television when it is on now. American Idol, your days are coming to an end! X Factor…. we welcome you this fall!
I was not able to watch the ACM Awards this year. However, when I heard from someone that Carrie Underwood performed with Steven Tyler, I was pretty excited! I immediately logged on and watched the performance on Youtube! The two sang Undo It/Walk This Way. I have to say that I loved it. Carrie was really into the performance. Sure, it’s not her style of music, but she had a blast! I never knew that I was a Steven Tyler fan until American Idol this year. He is quite a character. You can watch the performance below:
Simon Cowell’s The X Factor will be making it’s US debut in the fall. Here is a clip of Simon talking about what you can expect. Personally, I love the format of the show. I think it is very possible that this could become the future replacement of a drained American Idol. However, it’s all up to the ratings. At least it will not be running a full competition against AI for now. The X Factor has dibs on the fall and American Idol has the lock down on the beginning of the year. Two aspects that are really impressive would be the 5 Million Dollar recording contract (Biggest Guaranteed Prize in Television History) and the large variety of contestants (12 and up + Singles and Groups). Thoughts?
Most of you know that I am a huge Jon McLaughlin fan. He is by far, one of my favorite musicians. I discovered two weeks ago that he released an album titled, The Early Recordings, in 2010. I was not aware that he released this album. I’ve been listening to it every morning and it’s awesome. It reminds me a lot of his style on the Indiana album. Two of the songs that really caught my attention were Loving Me and Questions. You can listen to them both below:
